Guests have praised the excellent food and hospitable service, with standout dishes like succulent roast beef and creative vegetarian options garnering positive attention. However, some patrons noted inconsistencies in the menu availability and seasoning, with a few desserts proving surprisingly extravagant. Overall, the restaurant offers a charming experience, characterized by a friendly staff, a cozy ambiance, and a commitment to quality, making it a beloved spot for both locals and visitors exploring the area.
The food is really good in the service is also good, but the last two times we have eaten there, the delicious roast has been ruined by really over seasoned gravur very salty and peppery and completely takes away from the aromes of the otherwise excellent food. the desserts are a little strange and excessively outrageous. I couldn't find anything, but he dessert menu I wanted to order this time, which is unusual for me. my advice would not be to complicate everything!
We have booked for Sunday dinner, a bit tangible, as some of the reviews. no need. the northey arms is very beautiful in the inner, need not have been renovated so long. for our booking we have appeared a few minutes too early and the personal could not come any more. they turn us on another table. beautiful roaring fire, as they are in and near our table. kellnerin super friendly. we ordered very fast drinks and then ordered roast beef soon after. really delicious. two thick slices of pink delicate bark meat with yorkshire, roast potatoes, carrots, red cabbage and green. order of flower cheese on the side. the food came fast and was hot, tender and tasty. could have some greens. the service was excellent. will be leaving. full experience of brilliant hand car wash service in the parking lot so left with full magenta and a clean car!
The Northey has had a revamp and it is delightful. Much better layout and even the staff are happier with their work place. Not only that the food was greatly improved with more vegetarian options. We have been here quite often living near by and we will use it more often. My husband said his venison was some of the best he’d ever had and my parsnip soup was scrumptious . I had a small fish and chips which was delicious in every way. Well done everyone at the Northey, you’ve nailed it!
Disappointed after I had heard good things about this place after the referb, but a lot on the menu was not available, as they had run out of chicken. What food we did eventually get was excellent, but the service was terrible. Real shame.
My family and I visited this restaurant on Boxing Day without a reservation and were amazed by the incredibly friendly staff and service we received. Despite how busy the servers were, they went above and beyond to attend to each customer's needs. I had to ask for their names before we left to ensure they received the credit they deserved for working so tirelessly. Thank you to Lucy and Sophie for making our Boxing Day meal so special. I hope you both get to enjoy some well-deserved time off with your loved ones. Merry Christmas to all!
