We came in off the street, or rather, the canal, on spec and there were nine of us. Service was brisk and friendly. The food was great and they coped with a large party. We ate outside, since the weather permitted. View all feedback.
What James wilson doesn't like about The Barge Inn Restaurant:
Stopped for a quick pint 40 mins only to receive a letter 2 weeks letter informing me of a £100 fine for parking in the pub car park! How the hell can it make sense to fine your customers for visiting your pub and how can you justify the disgraceful £100? Complete and utter disgrace View all feedback.
The sea bass was a very small overcooked expensive dish that had no taste, it had been reheated. the employees were nice and offered a free coffee rejected
We were on our first mooring and this beautiful place was in the far away and was just the most convenient place to eat on the first night while on our sally narrowboat. we don't really know how timings from anywhere through...Barge, but they found us a table and service was very fast. it was very lively and while we were entertained by a live group. eating was very nice and exactly what we needed after a busy first dat on the canal. we always like hot food and we are not disappointed, my favourite sink and chips was delicious and we all enjoyed our meal. if it is designed along the east in direction that we recommend a stop here.
On May 3rd I visited the barge inn to lunch. it was okay and I left. today I received a fine of 60 for the use of the parking lot. I didn't see any signs for the parking lot, but I must admit that I didn't look for a sign because I never paid for the parking service in my 76 years. I couldn't turn to the barge inn or the parking company. I would never visit the pub again and warn all my friends. the personal would have warned me that the parking lot was draconian.
Huge pub/restaurant with a warm welcome great eating and great environment on the canal.
The food offering was a cut above the rest, and good value for money. The 2 girls working the bar,(Leeanne, and Andene,) where excellent at the hospitality business. And, quite important, the Pub is open 7 days a week, quite rare in this neck of...the woods!
