The Garden House Hotel, operated by a lovely couple with decades of hospitality experience, provided a warm welcome for my dad and me after a three-hour drive. Despite getting a bit lost in Westbury, we were greeted promptly upon arrival by the hostess who offered us drinks. The staff was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. The hotel itself is well-maintained and beautifully furnished, originally starting as a Spartan post office that the owners lovingly restored over time. The cozy and inviting atmosphere of the hotel reflects the owners' dedication to making the Garden House as welcoming as possible. For those interested in AOSB advice or the main board at Leighton House, I highly recommend staying at the Garden House Hotel. The owners are well-versed in the selection process for the official and were incredibly helpful, providing me with newspapers to read and even driving me to Leighton House. Overall, I had a delightful experience and wished I could have stayed longer.

We had a party of four diners at the cozy lounge. We were served advance drinks while our charming Swiss waitress took our food orders. It is quite common for restaurants to offer a limited selection of specials, but here we were offered a wide variety of enticing options. Our waitress explained that there was no filling for the dish that one of our party had chosen, but the chef kindly offered to prepare a special filling. When we were called to the restaurant, we all commented on the generous size of the table. Our appetizers included brie with redcurrant gelee for two of us, avocado for one, and mushrooms for another. All were beautifully presented and delicious. For our main course, three of us had lemon sole and one chose the pork with the specially created filling. The fish was served on a bed of juicy vegetables, including new potatoes. We all thought the meal was fantastic. The chef deserves congratulations for the excellent dishes, and the waitress was kind and attentive. The only negative aspect was the music, which was too loud and unsuitable for dining. Despite this, we would definitely return to the restaurant and bring our own music. We are confident that they will accommodate our request.
