Our first time back in over four years and since it fell under new management. The interior has been brightened up and looks very attractive. Plenty of seating. Service was great and the food was good. The only downside is the large bar attached to the dining area can get very loud making it difficult for you to hear your own conversation with your friends. Otherwise a wonderful place for dinner. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tropics Grille:
They do not honour OpenTable reservations. We went there and were told they don’t look at OpenTable reservations and that they were now busy and would be happy to put us on a waiting list. Recommend you delist them from your service. Also looks like the set from “Behind the Candelabra.” God awful place. View all feedback.

This is the first time at the new Tropics Grille. We had a party of 5 and made reservations thru Open Table. We were seated immediately upon arrival (20 minutes early). Our waiter was fantastic, very knowledgeable. Two of us had the lamb chop special was excellent and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend and will be returning soon.
Arrived at 7pm for a dinner reservation at 8pm. Had cocktails, arrived at the reception 8pm sharp. Through Open Table made a request for a banquet. Receptionist confirmed that request upon arrival at 7pm; however, at the appointed dinner reservation there were no banquets reserved...all taken with other diners. Not happy about that and had to be seated in an adjacent room until a banquet became available.
We were seated and waited 20 minutes for a service person to even look in our direction. They never did. Waited an additional 5 minutes for anyone to show up at the host stand to tell them we were leaving. We finally gave up and walked out. Seriously, I get that restaurants sometimes get in the weeds, but this was next level ridiculous. Eye contact or an even a passing “I’m so sorry” would have kept us there.
I would recommend Tropics to a friend on a regular day with their typical menu, but never for a special event. They had a Special menu (which I can understand) , but it was dreadful. Everything came with a giant baked potato that tasted like it had been prepared the previous day and the same vegetables. The 5 selections on the menu seemed to be precooked and ready to go. My selection was beef wellington which came out black on the top and raw on the inside. The table next to me was also very disappointed. They hired additional wait staff that didn 't have a clue of how to wait on tables. After 45 minutes the waitress came over and told us she forgot to put our order in..... What? Then the table next to us didn 't get water or drinks until after they had finished their appetizer and had started their main course. I had to ask for silverware also. I had reservations for 8 and didn 't get seated until 8:30..... The meal without appetizers, no desert, and no coffee took a total of 2 1/2 hours.... Ridiculous !!! Shame on who ever planned this. NEVER GO THERE FOR A SPECIAL EVENT OR HOLIDAY !!!!! They are unable to plan for any special events.
