What User doesn't like about Paddy's Hollow:
We took our mother here for her 78th birthday. There were 10 of us on a Tuesday afternoon about 3:00. There were about 7 other people in the restaurant. I don’t know if they aren’t accustomed to big groups or too many people in the restaurant at one time, but service was slow. Slow to get our initial drink order and slow to get our meal. Overall the food was good. Our waitress was friendly and definitely tried her be... View all feedback.
The ambiance of the place was significantly brighter than that of most pubs I've visited. The service was commendable. However, I noticed signs labeling it as a gastropub, and I’m not sure they fully understand what that means. The food was decent, but perhaps I'm a bit spoiled coming from a major food city. Overall, I’d rate the food a 3 out of 5.
Parking: The Cotton Exchange parking lot provides a 3-hour validation for diners at the restaurant.
I believe the staff at Paddy's Hollow may have left their friendliness at home that day. As newcomers to the area, we didn’t realize that they closed at 5 PM on Sundays and arrived at 4 PM. Their body language and snarky comments made it clear they were eager to lock the doors right at 5. The food was decent overall, but two of my companions ordered steak, which turned out to be quite chewy. The waitress was polite, but she repeatedly emphasized that the kitchen would be closing in just five minutes while taking our order. Additionally, they hurriedly cleared our plates and started cleaning the table while we were still sitting there.
This place is located in a really neat place. We stopped in for an early lunch. Staff were all very nice and service was fast. We ordered the fish chips and an order of the fried green tomatoes. Everything was delicious!! We were told that everything there besides a few salad dressings is made homemade. The fish is brought in fresh then breaded. It does make a difference and you can certainly taste it!
Food was good, loved the fried green tomatoes. Waitress made us uncomfortable with the lack of service despite being very hospitable with the tables around us.Food: 4/5
