Nestled within a charming ambiance, this ice cream shop invites families to enjoy a delightful treat. Adorned with a whimsical penguin theme, the establishment offers a variety of flavors, including both homemade and vegan options. However, some patrons found the ice cream overly sweet and the portion sizes lacking, particularly when considering the higher price points. While the quick service and friendly staff are commendable, a few customers felt rushed during their experience. Despite mixed reviews on specific flavors and price versus portion value, this shop remains a popular choice for those seeking a cooling dessert on warm days.

Was Charity Grimes at Cp's Cooler a mag?
They absolutely love their desserts! I've tried both the mint chocolate and cookie flavors, and the texture and taste are impressive. There’s no coconut flavor at all; you would never guess it was vegan! I highly recommend checking this place out. View all feedback.
What Megan M dislikes about Cp's Cooler:
I really hoped to enjoy this place more. The ambiance was lovely, and my daughter adored the penguin theme. The shop was clean, and the staff were quite friendly. The vegan flavors here are incredible! It’s clear that they are all made by hand rather than sourced from a supplier.
I really hoped to enjoy this place more. The ambiance was lovely, and my daughter adored the penguin theme. The shop was clean, and the staff were quite friendly. I tried to ask for a sample of their ice cream, but I was told they don’t offer samples. We each ordered a single cone of their homemade ice cream, but both were far too sweet for our taste. I chose the Oreo flavor, but when it arrived, it turned out to be made with chocolate ice cream instead. Additionally, I found the prices to be quite high—$5.50 for a single scoop is just too steep. At that price, I expect something extraordinary.
They were out of their chocolate blackout, so the staff suggested the vegan option. I ordered a large cup with fudge for my son, but what we received was a disappointing portion. The cup was only half full, and when I asked if this was really a large, the woman at the counter explained that they weigh the servings and that the vegan option is heavier, so yes, that’s their large. I can't recommend this place unless you want to overpay and feel cheated. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. If I had known they weighed the servings and that we’d be paying for a small amount in a large cup, I wouldn’t have come here in the first place.
My family stopped here for an ice cream treat after lunch since my daughter has been raving about this place. Currently set up for take out only there are cute penguins along the wait path for you to stand on to encourage social distancing. You can choose from either homemade ice cream, hard ice cream, soft serve ice cream, or even cookie dough ice cream. Along with that they offer the traditional banana splits and other frozen treats and your choice of cones. A staff lady was queueing the line so when she came to us I inquired about their homemade ice cream. Basically the one I was considering-black raspberry chip is vanilla based but flavored just right to give it that raspberry taste. I decided to go with that. A small consists of 2 generous scoops. My husband ordered the mint chocolate chip, and my daughter ordered a soft serve dole whip on a cone. When you are purchasing homemade ice cream there is a $1.00 up charge on your selection which instead of paying $2.50 you pay $3.50 for a small serving. We paid in advance and waited to be called. It didn't take very long and we were given our ice cream with lids on them, napkins, and sealed in paper bag. On the back side of their parking lot there are a couple of picnic tables you can eat from or just sit on a bench. I really liked the fact that the ice cream did not melt very fast in spite of the heat. It wasn't hard to cut into with my spoon and the black raspberry chip tasted so good! My husband and daughter both enjoyed their treats as well. You really get more bang for your buck at this place and it's offering homemade ice cream is always a plus for me. The menu is on a board in one of their windows. Great place to grab a sweet treat on a hot summer day.
