**Tavern 109: A Mixed Bag of Experiences** Nestled in a charming setting, Tavern 109 offers an intriguing menu replete with unique dishes like pear pizza and ginger carrot bisque, complemented by craft cocktails that delight. While many patrons praise the food and service, recent visits reveal inconsistencies. Slow service and overlooked orders mar the dining experience, leaving some guests frustrated, particularly when tech issues delayed billing. Despite these hiccups, the ambiance remains inviting, making it a popular choice for casual meals and special occasions alike. Overall, while Tavern 109 has culinary gems, the service needs to catch up to the quality of the food.

I've been to Tavern 109 a couple of times, and my wife and I absolutely love it. Their Sunday brunches are phenomenal, though they're currently not open on Sundays due to the pandemic. The service has always been excellent, and the food is fantastic. The chicken is some of the best I've ever had, and the mac and cheese is to die for. Their sandwiches are both delicious and hearty as well. They have a great selection... View all feedback.
What J Sweat dislikes about Tavern 109:
Pear pizza exceptional. Burger was overcooked. Chicken marsala was good but a tad thick. Tap water is irony . the service was very slow and we made reservations. Sat down at time of reservation 630pm and wasn't served our food for almost one hour later. Water or drinks for almost 10 minutes after sitting and never received a refill on any soft drinks or water. Waitress was absent when not serving or taking order. Ser... View all feedback.
Once we were seated, our server, Cari, promptly took our drink order and returned quickly with our drinks. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. After a little while, she informed us that the kitchen was backed up and that our food might take some time. Just as she mentioned this, another server brought out our appetizer. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and had a nice kick to it! A few minutes later, our salad and soup arrived, and I must say, the pear brie soup was fantastic! Cari cleared our plates and apologized again for the wait on our main courses. Shortly after, she surprised us with a complimentary bread pudding that was mistakenly prepared in the kitchen, and it was delightful! My 7-year-old's pizza came out next; Cari didn’t want him to have to wait any longer, which was very considerate. Before long, our entrees arrived. I chose the risotto of the day, and it was outstanding! Risotto is a tricky dish to make, but it was done perfectly. My husband ordered the swine mac, and it was also amazing! Cari was attentive, friendly, and even connected with us on Facebook before our visit ended. Given the quality of everything we ordered, I was initially worried about the check, but I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as high as I anticipated. We will definitely be returning again and again to try everything on the menu!
I really enjoyed this place! I just popped in for a beer and a sandwich after a round of golf, but I will definitely come back for a longer meal. The menu looked fantastic!
I’ve had some of the best craft cocktails here! The vanilla/lavender martini and the watermelon margarita are absolutely fantastic. My only disappointment is that we live so far from this amazing spot!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and was impressed by how clean and well-organized it is! The staff was friendly, and the food was fantastic. For my lunch, I found the overall experience to be excellent. The price was around $20–30 per person. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all as a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Pear Pizza!
I was told there would be excellent vegetarian options, but the choices were somewhat limited: a salad, a sandwich, burgers with a $3 upgrade for an Impossible patty, peach pizza, and risotto. While these options are similar to what you find on pub menus elsewhere, I found them lacking, especially given the higher prices. It would have been nice to see a few unique dishes featured. For the meat and fish options, I anticipated a commitment to welfare or sustainable sourcing, but I didn’t notice any such statements, although I may have overlooked them. Overall, the flavors were good, but there was a noticeable lack of innovation. On a positive note, the cocktail selection was intriguing! As for the vegetarian offerings, they could benefit from a more creative touch in the kitchen, as dedicated vegetarian dishes often make a stronger impression.
