I had the 4 piece chicken and 4 shrimp. Both were well seasoned and crispy. The greens were equally delicious. The corn pudding was really sweet. At first I started not to eat anymore of it, but I tried another bite and it wasn't as sweet. I will eat the rest of it tomorrow. Only 3 shrimp in the picture...I tried one while sitting in the car.???? View all feedback.
What Pamela Dee (Padeda) doesn't like about Corey's Chicken Shack:
I was visiting Williamsburg from out of town. I kept hearing rave reviews about Corey's so I wanted to try. I ordered the whiting with yams and potato salad. The fish was not very well seasoned. The only thing I liked were the yams. My daughter ordered the seafood platter. She said the crab cake was more breading than anything. I guess we are too critical about the seafood being from Maryland, but I digress. The serv... View all feedback.
This is a small restaurant a little off the beaten path is worth visiting. The food is good and great service. I had the seafood platter and the crab cake was so flavorful. My husband had the special which was pig feet and he liked them.

I've always wanted good soul food when in Williamsburg and this time I found it at Corey's. From the greeting at the door to the choice of kool aid or sweet tea this place is where you need to go for down home cooking. Look at the size of the biscuit!!! I gave five stars because of it. Soft and fluffy melt in your mouth sweet biscuit like grandma used to make only these gems were humbly made by Mr. John. ???? It appeared to have a full kitchen of men cooking who threw down, the food was delicious. Talk about Diners, drive-ins and dives; this place should be on it. I had fried wingettes which in my opinion should have been whole wings for the price but the taste and biscuits made me not complain about the cost. I also had fried shrimp and collards which I usually don't eat but they were delicious and yams that I wish I could get mine to taste like. My hubby had fried chicken livers smothered in onions and gravy, mashed potatoes and cabbage. Man!! y'all everything was delicious. Don't let the pics fool you, we took food home it was a lot. The tea and kool aid were sweet, reminded me of when i was a kid!!???? We dined in because they were so very nice and there's take out. Not sure about delivery. So if you're in the mood for some good down home southern soul food in Williamsburg get yourself over to Corey's it is truly worth the trip and is a new stop for us when we visit.
Okay... Everybody reading the reviews are saying what's all the hype about in these reviews. Well the real story is all the food is homemade and delicious!! Every customer that was sitting eating raved about their food. I had the pork chops dinner..two nice sized pork chops with sides of mashed potatoes and yams and they were fantastic!! Other people in the restaurant raved about their own food also, the Whiting, Catfish and of course the freshly made fried chicken.. All the food fresh made and looked delicious. One of the most pleasant experiences about my short wait for fresh cooked food was meeting Corey himself. He is very proud of his family and the recipes and great quality of food, and rightfully so!!! Go ahead and try this great little place before it gets on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives because it will!!! Family ran and operated serving awesome home cooked food like you are a guest in the kitchen of their home!! By the way that is Corey himself in the picture under the sign, say hello to him when you are there.
Friendly staff, reasonable wait time, but THE FOOD! Please come here and get yourself some of the best food I?ve ever had. Collards with enough pot likker to dip that biscuit in, mac and cheese spot on, and the chicken crispy outside, juicy inside ? perfect.
