What Aubrey B doesn't like about Aerie Lounge:
The view was pleasant and the food was quite good. Our waitress, Karyl Anne, was extremely wonderful and friendly. You might expect this to lead to a high rating... View all feedback.
When the server finally returned, the atmosphere was hectic and unfriendly, lacking the personal touch we expected. After placing our order, it felt like we were being a burden to her. Our food was brought out by a runner, and we shared the eggs benedict, which were very good. However, our server didn’t check back to see how we were enjoying the meal. As we were ready to pay and leave, I asked for the bill. The server's response was the rudest I’ve ever encountered in what should have been a nice dining experience. She was rushing around again! Eventually, she asked a woman at another table if they needed assistance, took my card, and quickly processed our payment. After we left, my wife and I checked our account on the way home to celebrate our anniversary, only to discover that the server had taken it upon herself to increase our tip from 20% to a shocking 40%. It took three days before my wife was able to get in touch with someone at the restaurant about this issue. This was not at all what we expected from our visit, and it raises concerns about the business practices there. I can't help but wonder how many customers have fallen victim to similar situations with outrageous credit card tips while trusting the staff. If this is how they operate, I must say it’s unacceptable. We are extremely dissatisfied and feel insulted. At this point, I’m still waiting for a resolution to our bill issue, and there’s nothing that would encourage us to return.
When the server returned, they appeared frantic and unfriendly. It felt like our orders were a burden. Although the food arrived promptly from a runner, when we split the Eggs Benedict, they were delicious. However, our server never checked in to see how we were enjoying our meal. When it was time to settle the bill, I asked the server for it and was met with an unusually rude dismissive response. The server hurried away again, and it was only when another staff member approached us asking if we needed help that we were able to complete our payment. To our dismay, after dining, my wife and I noticed that the server, who had provided such poor service, took it upon themselves to increase our tip from the standard 20% we left to 40%. It appeared that our server had essentially stolen from us. It took three days for my wife to reach someone at the restaurant about the fraudulent charge on our card. Our experience was far from what we anticipated, and it has left us questioning the integrity of the establishment. I can only wonder how many unsuspecting customers have been affected similarly while on vacation, trusting that their tips would be handled properly. If this was their best effort, I would rate it an F+. We were thoroughly disappointed and offended, and are still waiting for a refund. There’s nothing enticing enough for us to consider returning.

I indulged in dinner at Aerie while I was in town, and it was absolutely amazing. This is truly a fine dining establishment, so you should plan to savor the experience and take your time.
