McDonald's - Williams Lake

It seems like every McDonalds we have been to lately with the new pay system is soooo much slower than they used to be. Not sure if they are still working out the bugs or not. If they aren't, they should abandon the whole system. The reason this is called a "fast food" is it shouldn't take as long as a sit down. My snack wrap was cold. My husbands burger was good.

The food is standard McDonald's so "selectively good". This restaurant seems to be constantly training staff or understaffed and the chaos behind the counter looks like 3-4 people herding sheep that aren't sure what they should do now. When we got our order both the 6 nugget packs only had 4 nuggets in them (like the kid's meal). It was promptly corrected with a friendly apology, but what a waste of everyone's time! If you like McDonald's I recommend their drive-thru, it appears to be the center of their efficiency focus.

At what point do you think it's proper to tell a customer that 'we've always done it this way', when I know for sure and told the cashier, that this is the first time I've heard of it. I've always ordered a mocha w/o a lid, but today Doreen tells me that I had to have a lid on, since 'they've always done it that way'. When I told her that this was the first time I heard of this, she then said, 'No, we've always had that policy. And it's for safety reasons as well.' I would have appreciated not being told that 'we've always done it that way', when I know I haven't had a lid on my mochas for years! Please don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining! Also, whose idea was it to have one till open at lunchtime?

Needed a late bite before heading to our room. This location seemed very dark. We weren't even sure they were still open. We saw cars in the drive thru line so we proceeded. The male staff member who took our order was chipper and helpful . The pickup window girl was friendly though disorganized and we had to correct her on which order we were. It seemed to take longer than average to provide us our food. The salad I had was very good , the burger was good that another traveller ordered but the fries were semi cold and unseasoned. All in all an average McDonald's . It would be much better with more welcoming lightening and updated signage so that people were not afraid to go in.

It's been my routine to go here for breakfast once a week, to the drive-through, and if there's someone behind me I'll pay for their breakfast too. Makes me happy, makes them happy, I thought it was a win all around. When I tried to do that this morning I was told that that the restaurant wasn't doing that any more, as it was a hassle for their systems. I felt really sad about that. I won't go there any more for breakfast. They make a good breakfast sandwich, but so does Timmie's and so does A&W, and I'm pretty sure those places will still let a person buy a stranger a coffee.
