We wanted to take our mom who lives in Illinois to a special place for lunch here in Wisconsin. The location on the lake was beautiful. All else was pretty disappointing. I discovered this restaurant while searching for something unique online, and they had a Valentine's Day special that caught my interest. We had a dinner reservation for two at 5 PM, and we were seated right away on the enclosed patio, which was pleasantly warm. The special menu featured a Scottish salmon that was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The accompanying sauce, along with the potatoes and thinly sliced squash and zucchini, complemented it perfectly. The lamb chops were also outstanding. We decided to indulge in dessert, and the almond cake with orange-scented whipped cream was the highlight, closely followed by the brandy Alexander and the carrot cake, which were also quite good. Our service was excellent, and the food was served hot. Overall, it was a fantastic first visit, and we will definitely return!
I dined there in January and had a wonderful experience. The ambiance was excellent, and I was fortunate to have a great seat by the fireplace with a beautiful view of the bay. The restaurant was about a third full, which made for exceptional service. I enjoyed the food immensely—starting with the ahi tuna appetizer, followed by a delicious portobello mushroom and ravioli for dinner. The staff was friendly, and there was live music primarily featuring hits from the 1990s. Overall, it was a delightful evening!
My husband and I had a great time on the Santa Cruise, but we felt it could have been a bit longer; it was just too short.

The service was just ok and the food below average. had the chili which had the consistency of a soup and the taste was just ok. It was a cup size portion as well that was way way overpriced. The burgers fries my mom and sisters had were just ok as well. The humus plate we had was ordinary. If we didn't have the view of the beautiful lake Pier 290 would have been a complete fail. All in all a pretty disappointing lunch experience. We felt like it was not worth the trip and sadly we won't be back.
