The food was very good. Waitress was very nice and helpful. I really liked the salsa bar with a different types of salsa and the pickled cucumbers and onion. They were very good and made a nice little side dish to go with your chips and salsa. Very pleasant place to eat lunch in Wlilcox Parking: I parked around the corner on the main Street where there was plenty of parking. It was only two doors down so not very far... View all feedback.
What Krysta Brown doesn't like about Isabel's South Of The Border:
Slow service. Charged double for less food. Rude when questioned as to why we were charged double. I used to love this place when in town, but not return after today's issues View all feedback.
Food is bland, service was poor, and we will go to LaUnica from now on, or Adolpho's for sure.
A typical restaurant with local Mexican decoration. Generous dishes
Family of 6. Came on taco Tuesday, and it really wasn 't all that busy. Took roughly 5 minutes to even get a menu. When the server went to take our order, I asked for 15 tacos and a plate of rice and a plate of beans. Some of my kids like rice only and some beans only. This is the ONLY restaurant I have ever been to that refused to accommodate that request. I hate wasting food and absolutely hate spending money on food that will not get eaten while we are there. I was informed that due to portion sizes they would each have to have their own servings of rice AND beans with their tacos. Fine, ok, I 'm hungry, kids are hungry, hubs is hungry, just do what you must. Server brings out food and we have zero silverware to eat with. Takes another 5 minutes to flag a staff member down to get silverware so we can eat our food. Tacos were tasteless, beans tasted like they were made a week ago and have been on a warmer the whole time and the rice was flavorless too. We each try to gag down some of our food, but ultimately only a few bites of each item and I think one kid managed to suffer through one of their tacos. We leave a table piled high with food to go pay our tab and was absolutely shocked at the prices. $143 was our final bill. Those rice and beans they insisted had to be portioned were nearly $6 a plate! That doesn 't include the price of the tacos. To top it off, we find out that parties of 5 were required to pay 20% gratuity. So basically we paid almost $25 a person for terrible food and subpar service. This is the first and last time they will ever see my patronage. What sucks the most is that I know what my kids can and will eat, and now they have a trashcan full of food that is completely wasted. 0/10 would not recommend for a family.
It was one of the best Mexican food I've had. Worth the stop!
