We drove to the vicinity and were searching for a decent restaurant. Driving up the hill out of Waldenstein we happened upon Au Bram's. They were very welcoming, and after an apéritif on the terrace we moved indoors to a table by the window overlooking the valley. Between us we ordered a pork and a beef dish, which were both excellent along with wine from the region. We couldn't help ordering desserts as well and a digestif. It was so good, we came back the next evening. There were fewer guests, but the chef, his partner, and his parents were as welcoming as before. We had learnt of their reputation, so we ordered fresh trout – absolutely delicious – along with white Alsace wine. The digestif was on the house. Would love to go back there!
We popped in for a Monday lunch and were delighted to find a small but well selected menu representing some of the regional specialties. The dishes were made with skill and love and were all nicely presented. The beautiful scenery and the fine service made it a stop to remember and to recommend. We would have liked to see a bio wine or two on the wine list, though...
Location is excellant overlooking the valley towards the lake Wildenstein near Kruth. The staff are friendly and accomodating. The food is a cut above the other auberges in the area we had eaten at previously. I recommend the duck it was delicious. Also the wine inspired us to drive to the winery (Blanck in Kientzheim) to try it straight from the source. Excellant.
We were a group of 22 people, mix of adults and young kids. The owner and the chef were able to accommodate as in less than 24h notice and even to get in some requests from fussy little eaters. We got a table at the room with a big window so my friends got the wow factor I was looking for. Plus, the meals were beautifully presented and super well prepared! Top!
We had a pretty crummy table directly in front of the toilet (which was heavily frequented), as we didn’t reserve ahead of time. We were deprived of the lovely view but not of the delicious food! The service was kind and attentive and the food a major step above typical auberge food. They made a special dish for my little boy that was just what he needed. Delicious! But call reserve.
