Service was fast and our waitress was pleasant. We had the Montreal smoked meat and the Philly cheese steak. Fries are extra so we split an order which was huge and we still had some left over. What Vin Belmonte doesn't like about South Algonquin Diner:
Unfortunately this resteraunt has wasted my time and others that i know. They have been closed many times when they are supposed to be open. Food is about a 3 star as well. Be aware that you may waste your time driving there just to find out they are closed. Has happen to me 3 times and a friend once as well. This means many people are wasting gas that want to dine in. To breakfast with vater in law, got a western sandwich that was excellent, service was excellent and extremely friendly. will be eating here again!
Great service and huge portions, I am sure back next winter! oh and eating is also great.
Went for breakfast. Excellent coffee and when you order the big breakfast it is just that. Waitress made sure to check our vaccination status as well as I.D without an attitude. Eggs were made perfectly. Hash browns were crispy. Meats were good. Really good pancakes and syrup. Offered coffee refills at the perfect time. Very clean and organized. Keep it up! Will be try lunch soon.
Excellent selection and quality of food. They were able to accommodate our group of 9 we did call ahead. Indoor and outdoor eating space. We were only visiting the area but we would definitely go again if we are passing through.
I've visited back in 2020 for takeout. Food was good.My recent experience was last weekend was HORRIBLE.The servers were horrendous and none of them wanted to take responsibility to correct the orders and instead kept on passing the buck by saying It wasn't me that took your order but even though you may have not, you both work for the same restaurant.We ended up switching our order from dine in to take out... and they got the order wrong... so we had to reorder our original order...After about an hour, we got our order... or so we thought.We checked our food in the car and it was incorrect... we ordered the highland chicken sandwich and we got a burger. we went back in and they couldn't find out most recent order.. after placing it again... they manged to find the previous chit and finally corrected it ... we were finally able to head home after being there for more than an hour and a half.Prices are OK... but service needs to improve.
