a couple of pints. but let yourself eat. the service is good an efficient, personal are friendly. ales are available, with 2 salopian brewery ales, unknown in the modern world. this is a must when they visit Wigan. we always come here. only cash. many other possibilities are available. not much parking space, if at all, entrances for all people. shot. It can stay open for a long time. View all feedback.
What ropentastones doesn't like about The Anvil:
The Anvil is alright, with a big selection of real ales and plenty others besides. Prices are reasonable, staff are okay. It's not somewhere you would spend more than an hour, let least stay the entire night...but it's fine for a pint or two before venturing to the better bars in town. View all feedback.

Something dated and could do with a makeover. good selection of craft ales. in any case a trinkkneipe. hidden gem in the center of town if they like real ale
A brilliant pub, if they like to bud real ale or commercial beer and apple wines. it's like a trip back to the time with which the client is mostly male, a bit like the old taprooms and sleeping of jateryear. TV installed to keep up with the nags and football. it would be good if they could have an automated track map for wigan wallgate and wigan central for the trains as this is a convenient spot for people who travel to Liverpool,Manchester, Southport,Preston,Lancaster and other points on the track. not least very friendly bar staff, which does not allow them to wait in the bar.
Good, friendly service,Clean and neat,so a good choice of beer to decent preisen. beer garden back. television in all main areas. no food service, but the employees seem happy for them to bring their own sandwich pipe in and no problems.
Great old fashioned boozer. Good selection of beers/ales, well priced and nice atmosphere. Decent beer garden when the sun's out too. A bit off the beaten track from the other town centre pubs but definitely worth a visit
