Night Home cooked food made fresh to order. Decor is very modern. Ask for not as much spice and they are very accommodating. Very reasonably priced and plenty of parking outside. View all feedback.
What daveyh87 doesn't like about Tamarind Table:
Nice little restaurant in the centre of atherton. Has all the classic dishes plus others. The food was fairly bland didn’t have much flavour. Good prices though… we shared a mixed starter platter, two mains and rice and breads and popadom and drinks came to £50 so not bad at all. View all feedback.
This Indian restaurant is the best place I have ever been to for authentic Indian food! My husband and I have been loyal customers since 1994, despite the restaurant changing ownership three times over the years. We make it a point to visit every Saturday night when we are in the area. We have introduced many of our work colleagues and close family members to this clean and elegant dining establishment. It surpasses any other Indian restaurant we have tried in the UK. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy high-quality, authentic Indian cuisine. It is also child-friendly and suitable for large party celebrations.
My husband, three daughters, a family friend, and I visited this restaurant last night. Everything was excellent. The food was delicious and served promptly, which is a huge plus when dining with children. We hadn't been in a while, but we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor. All the dishes we ordered were amazing, especially my chicken tikka. The service was fantastic, the food was great, and the staff was lovely. We will definitely be returning sooner next time.
We had an easy time finding parking, which was a good start to our dining experience. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated with nice touches. This was our second time visiting this establishment. The menu offered a typical selection of dishes found in Indian restaurants, providing plenty of choices. We ordered chicken chat and chicken pakora as starters, and although they took some time to arrive, they were delicious and generously portioned. For our main dishes, we ordered the tandoori mixed grill with madras sauce and chicken tikka vindaloo with garlic naan and pilau rice. All of the dishes were flavorful and not overly spicy, with great quality meat. The prices were very reasonable in our opinion. We appreciated the abundance of comfy booths to sit in, as well as the fact that the tables were not too close together. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we look forward to visiting again soon.
We ate here for or Xmas party and we booked well in advance. On the night we all arrived early but before we even sat down we was told they need the table back asap. We hadn’t taken our coats off before the young waiter was told to come over and take our drinks order. Exactly the same happened with our food order . They tried to take our plates away I think three times before we had finished. We was very pushed and rushed through. In total I think an hour and half before they had us out. The popadoms did not taste right and the curry’s were very oily. A lot of food was left due to it being cold or very oily. Later that night I was sick and had very very bloated stomach, I had gone home straight from the restaurant because of the bloating I though I may have had a stomach bug. The day after it turned out that 4 out of the 5 of us that ate there had bad bloating so obviously was something in the food. That’s 5 families that will not recommend this restaurant or eat there again.
Excellent food, some of the best Indian food I’ve tried, really enjoyable. Portion sizing was generous too, would highly recommended this place. Staff were great and accommodating and also the location is close to other bars and a nice central location in Atherton. Highly recommend a visit.
