Galloways Bakers - Wigan

Bought lunch for the family in Winstanley Shopping Precinct. The pies and cakes were lovely. But the pork pie was very dissapointing. It was thin, the pork was mushy and the pastry soft and soggy. Very dissapointing.

Don’t go anywhere else! more fillings in all of their products compared to other pie retailers, other retailers are mostly pastry and are rather too hot or too cold. Galloways have got it right in all departments. Baked the traditional way, fantastic if it’s not...broke don’t try to fix it.

In reality, Wigan isn't short of pastry options but Galloway's gives a decent deal of quality against being one of the slightly cheaper bakery's. You want a for pasty...head across the road yards...you want to pay yards and down the hill...you...want food that wont give you heartburn and costs under and you're in the right place.

Bacon and Egg Toast at Sounds easy? Wrong. The woman who served me got in a huff because unlike a Pie, you simply can't chuck a B&E toast in a paper bag. You've got to actually COOK an egg and TOAST some bread... You'd...think I had asked for a course tasting menu.... AND you cant pay on a card. Had to go find a cash machine. Poor attitude and antiquated payment method means I will avoid in future. AND to top it off the shop was a mess.
