This restaurant is located at the end of the famouse GoldGasse street located in the walkplatz (foot zone) area in the middle of Wiesbaden's shopping and city district. Very relaxed, sitting outside you can people watch while enjoying a nice glass of wine, beer, cocktail,...or whatever your please to drink is. The food is very good, the goulash, schnitzel, and pike (zander) View all feedback.
What Enno Winter doesn't like about Cafe Wenzel:
Herzlich willkommen in einem Restaurant, das zwar preislich ambitioniert ist, bei dem aber die Qualität und Quantität nicht stimmt. Zu einer überschaubaren Menge Pfifferlinge gab es Knödel, die definitiv Convenience Food waren. Für knapp 13 Euro ein bißchen wenig, ebenso wie der Salat mit Putenstreifen meiner Frau für das gleiche Geld. Fazit: Mensa-Qualität zum regulären Restaurantpreis. Der Service war obendrein auc... On my last night in Wiesbaden on a recent business trip, I had a walk round the old part of the town looking for somewhere for a good schnitzel, my favourite German meal. I somehow managed to choose Wenzel, and it did not go well........I sat outside, and ordered a coke to drink. I then waited....and waited.....and waited....and the waitress then brought me a pint of German beer. She swapped it for the coke I actually wanted, and I placed my food order. I ordered a pork schnitzel with a potato rosti, and a pepper and cream sauce. The waitress then did what really, really annoys me in restaurants waiting staff that don't write down your order, but do the clever thing and attempt to remember it. The waitress spoke very good English. The food took an age to arrive, even though the restaurant was quiet. When the food came out, it was covered in a mushroom sauce instead of the pepper sauce I ordered. Even worse, rather than a nice homemade rosti cake, it was served with awful supermarket style round rostis the sort of thing you would get a bag of from Sainsbury's. This was such a shame, as the restaurant is otherwise very traditional. The waitress was nowhere to be seen for the next minutes, so I didn't bother to get the sauce changed. Of the food itself, the portion size was good, but the schnitzel was average, I didn't like the wrong sauce much, and the rosti was poor. I ate the meal and paid up. This is a very poor restaurant both in terms of food and service, and I would give it a miss next time I am in this lovely town. Not recommended.......there must be far better restaurants in the town
Service was good and the food and portions were good. The drinks were a little small and overpriced though. Wouldn't stop me from visiting again
This was the first restaurant we visited when we moved to Wiesbaden, and the last one we visited when it was time to move away. They serve traditional and seasonal regional foods, prepared to order. Kurbiscremesuppe in the fall is wonderful, with whole pumpkin seeds...as a garnish, and in the spring, Spargelcremesuppe is mild and hearty. They offer great coloring pages and colored pencils for any children that may be accompanying you. Most recently ordered a veal schnitzel with hollandaise sauce, and it was so tender and thin. Great atmosphere for eating outside, when the weather permits. Love this place

This Cafe is a really cool place in the old town of Wiesbaden. The location is a hot spot at the entry of the old town. Everybody needs to get along, to enter the town. If you like watching people, this is the place to...be in Wiesbaden
