What Hugh H doesn't like about La Ferme du Vert:
This must have changed hands recently. We visited last year because it is classified as Bib Gourmand in the Michelin Guide and it was wonderful. We returned yesterday and were completely disappointed. The startes were greasy and tasteless. Three of us had fish which was almost inedible. The chicken looked and tasted as if it had been boiled in dishwater. Last year, the Creme Brulet was exceptional. This year, we orde... View all feedback.
We stayed at La Ferme du Vert for 2 nights and ate in its superb restaurant both nights, the food was absolutely amazing, inventive delicious. The wines on offer were second to none and the waiting staff extremely slick and delightful. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough we loved it!
La Ferme du Vert is a beautiful farm in a very quiet part of France.
We first visited, 5/6 years ago and really look forward to our stay . This Dairy farm continues to deliver excellent tasty and varied food, that never disappoints. This visit was on a "demi-pension "basis, so we were able to pre order a Fruit de Mer paying a supplement (see Photo). The carte does not disappoint, with the Boeuf Normade (photo) and do try the fruit salade, this clears the palate. The breakfast is varied, from freshly boiled eggs, local meat, their own home made cheese can be sampled. Together with the normal fare. With excellent road connections, the Ferme is ideally situated as base to explore this region. The staff are very attentive and helpful.
If you are a foodie, you will love this restaurant. A great menu with beautifully prepared local food, Great wines and locally crafted beers. We were here for two nights, so managed to try some very different dishes.Taste, presentation and attention to detail from such friendly staff was impeccable.A must place to visit.
We have stayed at the Ferme from time to time for nearly 20 years. It is always a place we come back to when we travel to France. It used to be where we stayed if we had a shopping trip to France, but more recently we have stayed there whether on the way to another part of France, or overnight before going through the tunnel on the way back. Our room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable, with all required amenities, including a reliable wifi, in the room. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was superb! I had the set 3 course dinner, and my wife had a mains from the full menu. The food was fantastic, brilliantly cooked, very tasty and unpretentious! There was nothing on the plate that did not add anything to the flavour. We had breakfast in the main house, and again, this was lovely. There was a good selection of cheeses and meats, yogurts, fruit and pastries. The room is beautifully decorated and very French. The family who own the Ferme make their own cheeses and beer. Finally, the staff at the hotel were wonderfully welcoming and helpful and really made us feel at home. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be back!
