Zwischenbrückenwirt - Wien

First, the interior was a bit shock. The first room, when you enter looks like put of the cheapest kind. But it doesn´t seem to be used much. There are another 2 rooms behind that that are bit nicer but still.... In other words, this...is no fancy or romantic restaurant. The service was a bit slow and unimpressive. The same for the food. I had the pumpkin soup, which was probably one of the worst once I had for a while. Don´t get me wrong, it wasn´t so bad, but since this is traditional Austrian soup, most restaurants have perfectioned it. Not this one. The main traditional meal I had was deep fried chicken with potato salad 11 EUR). When done perfectly, it is crunchy on the outside, soft and juicy on the inside and you don´t get to taste/see the oil at all. None of those criteria was fulfilled. It wasn´t bad, but it wasn´t worth the trip there. Sorry to spoil to good reviews :

In VIenna on business, I had dinner with a dear friend who has lived there his whole life. As always, I left the choice of restaurant to him, and what a discovery!! This restaurant is in an unassuming part of the city, and looks like...any local gasthof (i.e. pub), typically located on a street corner. When you walk in, you see the same bar you would expect to. But then... Behind the sliding door is the part where you can eat. It is light, spacious, and welcoming, and there are actually not that many tables. Service is fast and friendly. It is the food, however, that REALLY stands out. I would rank this restaurant among my very best dining experiences in Vienna, and that includes quite a few very expensive ones. The menu is rather limited, and has two parts: permanent and one that changes regularly. Each has about 5 starters and 10 main courses. Dishes are unpretentious, and come on normal plates, but the taste is so good. All freh ingredients made freshly. Local wines are served by the glass and are excellent. Let me say no more: just go and try it for yourself, and let us all know what you think!

Ein großartiger Abend in schöner Atmosphäre (sehr schöner und ruhiger Schanigarten für zirka 30 Personen), sehr gute Küche mit wirklich guten Grundprodukten auf den Tisch gebracht von einem Team, dem man die Freude an der Arbeit anmerkt. Jeder einzelne Gang war ein Highlight, auch besonders hervorzuheben ist die großartige Weinkarte (viele österreichische Winzer). Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist fantastisch. Das Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder, ein Besuch ist unbedingt zu empfehlen

Ein von aussen unscheinbares Wirtshaus. Drinnen sehr modern und cool eingerichtet. Das Personal aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist sehr kreativ und die Speisen sehr gut, ebenso die Biere und Weine. Wir kommen gerne wieder

Top das Lokal. Essen ist sehr gut, die Weinauswahl ist groß. Preis Leistung finde ich auch top. Die Bedienung ist nett und die Wartezeit voll OK, eine klare Empfehlung, weiter so!
