we went there after christmas holidays understandable with rather ample eating experiences from the recent past. but this sympathic place offered a light menu with istrian specialities as an appetiser , fish dishes as main course and local wine all in very good quality. It is a family enterprise : the chef is the owner his wife and daughter manage the service very friendly and efficient ,therefore you feel easily wel... View all feedback.
What Théophile Levy doesn't like about Sopile:
I would give this restaurant a zero! Service was good which is the only thing positive. The salad arrived with a hair in it. The truffle pheasant pasta simply did not have a real truffle taste (good butter taste though). I also wanted to taste the pheasant in the pasta, but could not. In the end, you pay around 2.5 euros per ravioli which tastes like a dough ball with some chewy bits of something in it. There are goo... View all feedback.
We found this restaurant by chance. We had pasta with truffles, and also a dessert. Everything fine, good traditional food, portions are not too large (if you are hungry, you should take pasta and meat : Fine, not excellent Recommended Interior is not too cool, but ok.
I hadn't been at Sopile for some time and didn't know what to expect the restaurant is a family business run by husband in the kitchen and wife serving the delicious food. They come from the Istria part of Croatia, so one is fed high quality fish and very nice meats and good wines from Istria and from Austria. If you are tired and hungry after extensive sightseeing this is the place to go to.
Amazing ! Try the calamaris, the best I’ve ever tried, and the portions are respectful. The services is nice and friendly.
Small place, bit depressive decorated so would be in need of renewal of furniture and the interior. But on the other side was nearly full. Very friendly and good service. It was the week of istrian wild asparagus, so there was a seperate menu on that. We started of with some classicals istrian ham, selection of sheep cheese and some warm calamaris we shared e portions and that was quite a lot for the four of us, had taste, nicely served. For the mains we had the raviole in green sauce with wild asparagus, and the fish fillet with wild asparagus. Simple dishes but done as should be, good taste, right size. We ended with some small desserts, the choice of desserts was not to great. In total for us 4 , bill was 160 euro, which us a good value.
Went there with friends. All of us were satisfied with our food. Very good fish soup with lots of fish filets in it. The pheasant ravioli with truffles seem to be around every truffle season ours were good: Nice, but soft taste of pheasant, and yes, real truffles were also there, but not too aggressive; the cocoa in the pasta was a very nice touch. Dessert a little disappointing, but the cheese platter was great (as were the mackerels). Istrian wine very drinkable and not expensive. Will visit again.
