entering the local one sinks into another world. the same culture as you can only find it in, starting from the card round over the philosophical trinker, the worker from next to the older single woman with the weinglas before himself and the student who is still to be seen the past night. the slender, a petty from the last century, the furniture with a patina that wet and the guests can still smoke here. the food: h... Amazing how this place is a blast from the past. You really feel like it was preserved from the 50's. Eclectic crowd- very Viennese. We went there for lunch and there was a very limited menu- but it was cheap and relatively tasty (it was just smoked pork and mashed potatoes.) So, in other words, do not expect much in terms of the food- it is really basic, but the place itself is Old Vienna in its raw, authentic, unap... View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant with my family, during our roadtrip from central europe to greece. we arrived late at Wien and the apartment we hired was nearby, so finding this excellent restaurant was pure luck. The portions were really big and the food very nice. The schnitzel was really tasty ans so were the potatoes accompanying it. The pasta ordered with cheese and ham were a little oversalted but in any case really tasty. the prices were really low and the wine ordered nice. the envionement was nothing special but it was making you feel comfortable. the service was excellent and the lady serving us really helpful.
What a treat. The host of our B&B recommended this little hole in the wall near us. we ate there the first night in Vienna and again before we left. It is small and cozy and a place that the locals know well and frequent. It is not upscale and there is no English menu but the Goulash will delight your taste buds. It is thick and rich and full of huge chunks of meat no Veggies). You'll want to mop up all the broth with bread. Top that off with a beer and you'll feel like a local in no time. Give it a try. You will be happy you did.
Originelles, uriges Gasthaus.....geniales Gulasch....viele nette Menschen....gerne wieder! Preiswert und gut! Das Anti-Schicki-Miki Beisl von Wien!
Vorzügliches Gulasch, dazu der Charme eines echten Wiener Beisl. Pflichtlocation bei einem Wien-Besuch.
