Green Door Cafe - Wiarton

From the outside, I didn't know what to expect. From previous reviews, it made sense to try our tastebuds at this restaurant. We were far from disappointed. Their cabbage rolls reminds me of my grandmothers' on both sides. They were fantastic - hearty and flavourful! We also tried the curry, I must say, delightful and not over salted/sugared like many places do to appease the North American palatte. In any case, we also got to learn a bit about the new owner's history of taking over a long standing venue, known by locals and passerbyers alike. I would certainly recommend this joint. Take a moment to enjoy a soup, sip some coffee and try their quiche. I am sure they won't disappoint!

Good variety menu. Good food at a reasonable price. small place so we had to wait for a table, but they took our name allowing us to check out other stores while we waited. Friendly and efficient staff.

We had a real challenge finding any place that was open for breakfast on our recent trip through Wiarton. But this place hit the spot. The eggs and hash browns were just right, and my husband enjoyed his favourite vacation breakfast of bacon and coffee. Nice fresh, simple food with cheerful service.

This restaurant has friendly and accommodating service. The food was like eating at home. The salads were plentiful and the soup of the day was tasty.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here with friends, some of whom are vegetarians. There is something for everyone on the menu, including a small selection of wines. We ordered the shepherds pie, whitefish, baked cod, grilled avocado salad with shrimp and krispy fish tacos. All were delicious and served by perhaps the friendliest server we've ever had. Park in the rear or on street in front. This is a very small restaurant so reservations are a must at least for dinner. We were turned away one night when we showed up without a reservation and saw other groups having the same experience while we were there.
