The Promenade Cafe South Morang

I'm going to make a big call here: The Promenade Cafe is the best kept secret in South Morang. Located in the peaceful business strip across from The Lakes Reserve, it is a beautiful spot to sit and have a meal, coffee or glass of wine. I went in today after my hair appointment today for a coffee and was pleasantly surprised to meet Jeff, one of the new owners and his team. The food and bakery items looked so tempting that I decided to have lunch there instead. I had the lasagna (one of the owner's specialities) and it was fabulous the lasagna had the perfect blend of pasta, meat, sauce and cheese, and it came with beautifully flavoured chips and salad with great dressing. If you haven't been to the Promenade Cafe in a while or had a bad experience with the previous owners, do yourselves a favour and give it another go! The new owners are really doing a great job with this place. The menu is much better than it was before and includes a great range of all day breakfast items and other sit down style lunch meals. They are installing a pizza oven so they can soon offer gourmet pizzas as well. They are now licensed and can provide wine and cheese platters as well. Service wise, the staff are very nice and attentive, showing a genuine interest in your happiness and comfort. My husband and I are looking forward to going back for another meal very soon. Enjoyed a great coffee and awesome granola at this cafe this morning after our run! Fantastic friendly service! Will definately be back! Oh yeah did i mention the awesome granola?

The food at this restaurant is incredible. I especially enjoyed the fish dish and the gnocchi. They also offer a great selection of wines. I am looking forward to trying their breakfast menu next!
