Description

Nestled in uptown Whittier, Greenleaf Cafe is a favored spot for breakfast and all-day menudo. While the food is generally praised for its flavor and generous portions, service quality varies, often marred by slow refills and inattentive staff. The casual ambiance complements a diverse menu featuring everything from chilaquiles to enchiladas. Although prices are climbing, many diners find the experience enjoyable enough to return. Overall, Greenleaf Cafe is a solid choice for those seeking hearty meals in a welcoming environment, though improvements in service consistency are needed to elevate the dining experience.

I ordered medium-sized menudo, I think it was way too small and it had more corn (hominy) than meat n broth. My husband ordered the chicken mole enchiladas and those were very good, n full of flavor.

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Not too busy, plenty of open seats. We both had the eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes. Our order came very quick. We had to ask for coffee and water several times before we got it. Our food was average at best. We were waiting on our bill for 15 or 20 minutes and gave up on more coffee. Apparently you don't get a bill, you go up to the register to pay. Now we know. With a tip, our bill was $50

I've loved the Greenleaf Cafe for years. I usually stick to the steak tampiquena but the other rainy night we ventured out and I order steak fajitas. It was a good portion for today's prices.

If you need a solid place to grab some breakfast in casual attire, this is the place! The staff is super friendly and attentive and the food is good! I highly recommend the Menudo! Breakfast plates and soup seem to be their forte but I've never had anything there I didn't like. I visit every time I'm in town!
