Arturo's Puffy Taco - Whittier

The puffy fried taco shells are quite tasty and certainly distinctive. However, the filling is so moist that by the time I got my meal home (less than a mile away), it had leaked through the bottoms, causing my tacos to completely fall apart. What a messy experience! Additionally, I can't give a perfect rating due to the terrible parking situation in this suburban area. They definitely need to find a way to create more parking spaces.

This place is a childhood favorite from back when they were located in La Habra on Imperial Blvd over 40yrs ago. We now live out in Riverside but still make the drive about every month or so for the 1 of a kind Puffy Tacos. There’s nothing like them with all their overfilled goodness. Only 2 locations exist, so you got to try this one unless you want to travel to Texas. Hopefully we’ll make it out there someday to try their location with the Cantina!!

Very good tacos! Tried a few but the saucy beef one was the star! A bit far to travel for me otherwise I’d come often! About $3.50 a piece!

This is tex-mex on his best, people, and it feels oh so good going down. Get the two puffy taco combo (they recommend the Guizada and the Picadillo, and they are not wrong), and be sure to wash it with their homemade lemonade, you can thank me later.
