It's a small café, but it really stands out with its friendly service. In a previous review, I described it as 'shabby and tired,' but I sincerely apologize for that mistake—I confused it with another experience from the past. The service here was warm and relaxed, and the drinks were delightful. The snacks were plentiful and fresh. Thank you for a great experience!

I escaped London to spend a year in Whitstable during the lockdown and treated myself regularly to a jacket potato at Gilbert’s for lunch. Gary and Tara always greeted me with a smile and are incredibly friendly and warm to everyone. They truly are a wonderful part of the local community. As for the jacket potato, I can honestly say it's the best around. The handmade coleslaw is a perfect 10/10. They also offer a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as many delightful deli items. Anyone who visits for lunch or breakfast will not be disappointed!
