Hard to say why except that German food is rare anymore and good German food especially rare. The meal was really good and prices very reasonable.

After a long day of hard travel through British Columbia, this place was an astounding find. The food was way better than expected, and the prices were good. The staff was efficient and friendly.
One would not expect a restaurant of this caliber in the middle of nowhere. If you are staying in Whitehorse proper it is well worth the drive. Lucky for us that we were staying in RV Park next door. My hubby had a beautiful "fancy" salad. Several delicately pickled vegetables. Presentation was incredible! He followed with a barbecued chicken breast that was juicy and flavorful. I had an amazing schnitzel with a delectable mushroom sauce. This is a don't miss!
I've heard for years about a German restaurant in Whitehorse, Yukon but never could find it. While visiting there this month we asked friends of ours and they took us out to eat at The Wolf's Den. It is a few miles out of the city but right along side of the Al-Can Highway. I ordered Jaeger Schnitzel and was extremely please with my meal. The service is quite nice, the atmosphere very comfortable and the food great. We will definitely go back the next time we're in Whitehorse...
