Not the greatest decor, but the great food and friendly service more than makes up for it. This is our favourite lunch spot and have been ordering dinner take-outs from here for years. The large amount of asian customers to me is proof of the quality and authenticity of the food. View all feedback.
What Al W doesn't like about D&C Food Services Ltd:
this place deserves a minus rating. The place is old and dingy. The bathroom is close to kitchen in tiny hallway. This whole place is small and unappealing.. food is quite bland ard VERY overpriced. Portions are quite small. Won Ton soup was a disaster... broth bland and jelly bean size Won Ton wrappers. I found the hostess/ owner to be very rude after she asked how the food was but didn't like being told it wasn't very good. She then atttempted to belittle me for telling her the truth. Very phoney. Save your , time and effort in going to this poor so called Chinese food place. There are others in area much better. Believe me... we know good Chinese food politeness which is very lacking here. In category listed for cost: fine dining is a total misnomer. Very expensive for what is offered.
The decor is pleasant and food is acceptable but not great. This is Western food cooked for Western tastes and does not resemble food prepared in any of the regions of mainland China. Pictures on the website show an kinteresting and colorful menu selection but what you actually are served does not resemble the website photo. Food is quite tasteless. However, if you are ordering for large groups for take-out, they are very accommodating as to making vegetarian dishes and with no MSG or with no soy sauce so the menu item is gluten free.
I have been to a lot of Chinese restaurant and this restaurant food doesn 't taste like Chinese food at all! We ordered house special chow mien with slices of pork bbq . It 's horrible. We ordered special fried rice and it 's disappointing! Chicken sticky rice taste like just broth with msg! I tried to order lettuce wrap but the waitress said that what we ordered is way too much for 3 people! I was not happy! I did not insist to order, I thought she would be happy to take my lettuce wrap order but she said no! 'Too much . I did not enjoy my dinner and not coming back!
Being an amateur cook and foodie, I both cook and seek quality Chinese food. I have eaten Chinese cuisine in San Francisco, London England, Toronto, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macau, Thailand, and Burma. I have found that every restaurant has its specialties and access to premium meat and fresh vegetables. this is the case with the Dining Wok. I have only eaten there once and found the experience uninspiring. The vegetables were a little overcooked and lacked the crisp snap of al dente bok choy and gai lan. The seafood chow mein was average but a bit salty. The ginger chicken was a little bland without a distinctive ginger tang. The servers were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was pleasant. I may return but there are many preferred restaurants in my point of view.
Not a bad Chinese restaurant really. Extensive lunch menu; hard to decide if you’re in a rush. The spicy beef was good. Comes with soup and tea for all of $11 so the price is right. Service is good Need to go back and sample a few more choices but I left thinking that there was nothing outstanding.
