Smoke's Burritorie - Whitby

The dining experience was exceptional and delicious! I really appreciated the atmosphere of the place, and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely return in the future!

I arrived at 3 PM and ordered a burrito. When it was time for my order to be prepared, I was informed that almost none of the toppings were available—only a small amount of guacamole and corn. There were no tomatoes, salsa, or anything else! When I inquired about this, I was told it was because they were closing in an hour at 4 PM. Without half of the available items, it felt like the restaurant was essentially closed by 3, and it certainly wasn't worth the money. I felt guilty about wasting food, but ultimately, I left the half-made burrito and decided to go somewhere else.

We decided to try out this popular spot, as I had only experienced one similar version here in the USA. We stopped on our way to the bus station and ordered a regular hoagie and a cheesesteak. The only employee working that day was a person who had been there early on a snowy morning, and he chatted with us while preparing our order to go, which he managed to complete quite quickly. The food was still hot even after our walk to the bus station. The portion sizes were almost too generous. There were plenty of toppings on both items, and I only regretted not getting double the cheese curds to enjoy that gooey goodness. I’d estimate the container was probably half-filled with cheese. I thought I might be disappointed by soggy fries, but they held up well and were still crispy.

This Whitby location is the Head Office, not a restaurant at all!
