Hooksey's Fish & Chips - Whitby

This restaurant has a great breakfast and greek salad. The owner will not give out her recipe for the greek salad dressing. Nice family restaurant. Can't go wrong.

I guess after reading most of the reviews I was expecting an above average F&C place. Considering all those in Durham I would rate it average! Our young waitress was friendly and attentive but the wait for standard halibut & chips was 25 minutes. The coleslaw was good, the fries were warm not hot and the fish was overcooked so it was dry and I doused it with vinegar. OK but not our first choice in F&C joints.

Really good fish and chips or different type of salads. Food is made with love and care. Very clean. Great customer service. I would recommend all.

The staff always goes out of their way to make my family and myself feel well taken care of. I have small children and they are considerate of always placing sharp/hot items out of reach, they predict our needs (extra napkins, smaller servings for the kids). It is always a pleasant experience, feels more like eating with family then at a restaurant. Oh, and everything is delicious!!!

Have ordered the fish and chips from Hooksey's several times now and look forward to ordering again. The portions are good, the price is right, and the fish is delicious.
