The fish and chips dish seemed overpriced and lacking in flavor for one patron, while another found the poke bowl uninspired. However, others appreciated the attentive service, friendly staff, and overall dining atmosphere. The large portions and selection of drinks were highlights, with a cozy patio for outdoor dining. The Beacon Pub was particularly enjoyed for its burgers, music, and atmosphere for a family with teenagers. Overall, the diverse menu options and knowledgeable staff make it a recommended spot for different dining occasions.
Beacon Pub and Eatery in downtown Whistler is undeniably a fantastic spot to enjoy a casual meal and a cold beer. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place has a lot to offer.I recently visited Beacon Pub and Eatery and tried a few of their signature dishes. The Poutine was a true Canadian delight, with crispy fries smothered in rich gravy and cheese curds. It's the perfect comfort food to accompany a cold brew. But what truly impressed me was the Steak Frites. The steak was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, and the fries were crispy and flavorful. This classic dish was executed flawlessly and exceeded my expectations. As for drinks, the Beacon Bad Boy Caesar deserves a special mention. It's a refreshing and savory twist on the classic Caesar cocktail, and it quickly became my favorite. The bold flavors and unique presentation make it a satisfying beverage. The ambiance at Beacon Pub and Eatery is inviting, with a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for winding down after a day of adventure in Whistler. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your dining experience is enjoyable from start to finish.By the way their French Fries are the best and don't miss out on the Steak Frites and the Bad Boy Caesar – they are a winning combination!
We were staying in the Crystal Lodge above the pub so we didn’t have far to walk. The pub doesn’t take reservations and you may have to wait for a table. We were given a table on the patio and ordered some drinks. This place is great for a casual dinner so we ordered 2 sharing plates (chicken wings and chicken pesto flatbread) to eat before ordering 2 more (battered fries and chicken quesadilla). We visited on a Wednesday in mid-July and it was busy. No issues with the service. Overall, a good visit. Would recommend for those who want something simple and casual.Total bill with tips $137, £82 with a couple of beers
Eh, it was just ok. My wife and I both had the Fish Chips (hers was the kids portion), a Pepsi, and a D Pepsi. After tip, came to CA$57. Was def not worth the price. The fish had a very tough crust on it. The taste was just ok. The fries were thick cut and, again, just ok.Advice: if you’re going to get the fish chips but don’t care for coleslaw, get the kids portion cuz it’s the EXACT same portions but without the coleslaw and it’s $4.50 less! Also, the place is VERY small so reservations are recommended during the busy ski season. We were here in late October and it was dead.
Had a great evening at Beacon’s! The food was awesome and our server Brad was amazing! We will be back!
As of September 2023, this restaurant offers excellent service with friendly staff, including the bartenders who give great recommendations for drinks and food. During our visit for afternoon lunch and drinks, we tried the quesadilla and wings, which were good but not outstanding. The wings were crispy, but they come unsauced with sauce on the side. Located in the heart of town, this restaurant is a popular spot where you can enjoy people-watching on the patio while sipping drinks and unwinding. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes of the food. The service was attentive and welcoming, with a good variety of beers and drinks available. The patio is cozy with heating and provided blankets. While the food is good, it could use more seasoning as it was a bit bland.
