Ihlenfeld Dining Room - Wheeling

We stayed for the weekend. The resort itself is beautiful. We made reservations for the seafood buffet and I would never recommend it to anyone. The food was below par. Out of 4 in the group 3 had food poisoning (1 person only ate salad and dessert, no seafood). We just had the seafood buffet. The dinner was delicious. The service was “over the top.” Very professional wait staff. Wheeling doesn't realize what a gem we have in this resort.

Reserved a table for three on a thursday night in the dining room near the window. The main door to the dining room was closed and we were told to walk through the bar to the small “annex” which was packed to the brim. I know west virginia does not believe in social distancing but this was ridiculous. The main reason we walked out is that this older waiter had about 40 people all to herself, and we knew it would be a very long wait for food. Breakfast buffet was delicious and had many options. Beautiful morning view.

We paid $17 apiece for burnt eggs and for the buffet guy to be rude as hell. Go work somewhere else if you’re incapable of working with the general public. Only good thing was our server JAELA who was super nice and attentive.
