The BBQ baked beans, green beans, potato salad, ribs, sausage, and brisket were all delicious! Even the tea was perfectly sweetened. I wish I had saved room for dessert. I'm looking forward to our next visit!

When the sandwiches finally arrived, they had all the toppings I specifically didn’t request. My baked potato was covered in cheese and ended up being too dry. I expected much better than this.

I remember the day in their backyard barbecuing when Mrs. Hinze said to Mr. Hinze “maybe we should open a barbecue place” and the result was the Barbecue Hut behind the Dairy Freeze. When they opened on the highway, I was one of their first cooks while I was in High School. What a great family and nothing tastes as good as Hinze’s Bar-B-Que.

You can tell a place is great when... read more I was in Wharton from Galveston for a birthday party, and we decided to stop here for lunch on the way. All I can say is wow. You can tell a place is great when it's filled with locals right after church, but I was totally unprepared for the barbecue that melts in your mouth and the homemade macaroni that makes you wonder if your grandmother had somehow come back to life just to whip up lunch for you. It's that good!
