They served me a bowl of soup with just... read more I ordered French Onion soup at this restaurant, which was advertised as 'American-French.' It was such a disappointment. They served me a bowl of soup with just three dumplings in it! I felt embarrassed for suggesting this place to my colleagues. Just because something has a “French touch” doesn’t mean it’s good; that’s a poor assumption. Overall, the restaurant doesn't truly embody French cuisine. I recommend thinking carefully before deciding to visit.

We chose to sit outdoors and it was perfect because our waiter was very fast with the drinks and food. Everything tasted great. I thought the prices were a little high compared to other, similar venues, but it was worth it. The Beast of Bourbon was a fun drink and everyone in our party enjoyed the visit. We'll, be back.

We had a party of four reservation for my wife’s birthday and the food was really good. Friendly server and not crowded but it was a Sunday evening. Very chill ambiance in this historic building. The prices were consistent with fine dining. We had to park on the street but it wasn’t a far walk. I recommend!

The vintage feel of the restaura... read more My mom picked The Charles to celebrate Mother’s Day after hearing glowing reviews from others, and we were so glad that we did! The vintage feel of the restaurant was right up my mom’s alley, and it was impressive to see the beautiful condition ofthis antique home. The prix fixe menu for the holiday had a great selection, including the deviled egg appetizer, prime rib, andfilet mignon. The meat was cooked to perfection, and I especially loved the sauce that was paired with the filet! They clearlyhave a very talented chef. Desserts of the carrot cake, affogato, and creme brûlée were all great too. Though we thought thewaiter could’ve been friendlier (not even a Happy Mother’s Day to my mom), we did appreciate that the table was cleanedbetween courses and that each course moved steadily. We plan on visiting again to try their non-holiday menu!

The Seriously Deviled Eggs are a MUST and Homemade Sausage (suggested by our awesome waiter) was perfectly prepared and had such great flavors. The whole staff was very welcomingand accommodating!!
