The food was muy tasty, the service friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The homemade hot salsa sauce was also exceptional and the refried beans that came with the meal were the best I've ever had. Love this place! Cinco estrellas!!! View all feedback.
What Kailash Prabhu doesn't like about La Casa de Maria Mexican Food:
If you're searching for Vietnamese cuisine in Paris, I would suggest passing on this restaurant and seeking out another option. The portion sizes are small and the prices are higher compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. View all feedback.
I wanted a delicious meal for my final night in Paris, and I was extremely pleased with my choice.
This restaurant feels like home. The pho and egg rolls were delicious. It's great to have Vietnamese food that tastes like home.
Limited selection of items to order. Expected to get combination type items. Your order had to be "item ordered" by ourselves. It was ok.
So although the setting is a bit sketchy. It's a bit weird driving into a driveway set back from the highway don't let that bother you. The food was great. They make an awesome tequila sunset and Pina coloda. The portions were gigantic. We had ponchos, burritos, and tortas. Chicken was not dry. Burritos were not soggy. Everyone said their food was good. Service was pleasant. Definitely recommend eating outside. Kind of smells inside. Hours are limited so be sure to check and they are closed in winter.
You may drive past this building because you don't think it really looks like a restaurant (see photo's). Don't be misled. Do yourself a favour and go eat here next time you're in the area. The address above is a little deceptive. It's on H'way 13 west of the QE2, on your way to Pigeon Lake, at Falun.Inside it's very simplistic much like an authentic Mexican cantina, and there is a covered patio on one side.Six of us arrived and were greeted by Maria herself, a friendly charming genuine Mexican senora. We gave her our starter order, home made guacamole, pico de gallo, chips, and Maria's own hot dipping sauce (amazing), and two buckets of Corona, then went to sit on the outside patio. When the starters arrived, Maria took our main coarse orders and we settled in to enjoy the beer and the guac'.Soon, the mains arrived, and I'll just say, THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE. The food is incredible, a real touch of authentic Mexico right here in middle Alberta. Everything is made fresh to order, no pre-made stuff here, and lots of TLC have gone into it.We arrived mid afternoon so the restaurant wasn't too busy, but I'm told if you arrive at lunch or dinner times, you may have a little wait for your food because it is all made to order. But no big deal, just grab another cerveza and sit back and enjoy yourself.I highly recommend Maria's place, you deserve to come and eat here. Be advised this is a CASH only restaurant, but if you forget to bring some, just go next door to the liquor store with your cards and they will advance cash to you. The prices are very reasonable too.
