The restaurant may still have a bit of a run-down appearance, but the new owners are making efforts to improve it and keep it clean. Kudos to them for being stricter in their approach. View all feedback.
What Jim D doesn't like about Tower Tavern:
This used to be a great small-town neighborhood bar, but too many things have gone south. They let far too many low-life's and degenerates in there, some wearing gang colors, and the help behind the bar needs to be fired and replaced, especially the middle-aged blonde who only serves regulars and likes to hide in the bathroom or the kitchen. Physically, the place is still a hole in the wall/dump, but the new owners are trying to do good things with it and clean it up. Kudos on being stricter than the previous owners and not putting up with or looking the other way on stuff like scumbags wearing gang colors, and drug use in the bathrooms. Finally, kudos on the new staff.
Great food, drinks service! Good for groups. Entertainment every Friday Saturday, starting at 9pm. Parking out front, or lot next to tower. Specials daily!
While the Tower Tavern is tucked away in a small pocket of South Jersey just 11 miles out of Philly, it surprisingly exceeded my expectations of what one would consider a roadside tavern off the beaten path--no pun intended! There is minimal parking near the actual building, so my friend who was my ride took a chance and parked on some gravel next to the bar in hopes that we were in an okay spot (Spoiler alert: we were! Phew! and that another car wouldn't come along and block us, making it impossible for us to pull out of our spot. I came with some friends on a Saturday night for karaoke to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday, as it was a place where the guest of honor had come before and had raved about karaoke and the bucket of 5 ciders or beers for $15--perfect if you're sharing the bucket with others! My friend celebrating her birthday was eager to recommend the Redd's Peach Ale (a seasonal variety made by the same folks as Redd's Apple Ale and it was PERFECT! Even better--the appetizers and food selections were reasonably priced and a perfect complement to our drinks--I was VERY pleased with my chicken fingers and sweet potato fries! For those interested in Saturday night karaoke, it's super easy and fun; the DJ provides a link to an app you can download to view the song selections and submit yours; you can even view the lineup on the app itself! While I don't get out this way very often, I'd definitely recommend it to those in the area!

Great and accommodating karaoke DJs. Cheap drink prices for buckets of beer. Free pool tables. Food is tasty at a great price. Awesome place to unwind and shout on a Friday night. Fun starts around 10pm.
