Gaetano's Deli - Westport

Delicious food but somewhat chaotic at times when ordering/waiting at the restaurant as it is a small space and can get very busy. Parking is very available in back of restaurant. Staff is very friendly and the catering is delicious.

Owner was extremely rude when he refused to supply us with an itemized receipt. He slid over a pad and told me to write out my own receipt! Bad enough not to supply the receipt, but there was no reason to behave in such a way. BEWARE to all those needing an itemized receipt to cover a business expense. Also, I wouldn't have bothered to review the food, I simply wouldn't have returned, as the sandwiches were just mediocre.

My wife and I found this place after being frustrated at not finding any descent lunch options as we were driving along I-95 in western Connecticut. We finally hopped off an exit, glanced at Yelp, and stumbled across a deli that was within a short distance. It turned out to be an absolute gem! I will NEVER pass through Connecticut again without stopping here. I visited the Post Rd location and couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were more than friendly, they made us feel like family, and our sandwiches were carefully crafted into masterpieces. My only regret is that we did not find out the name of the gentleman who made our sandwiches. We can't wait to get back to Gaetano's!

I wish I found this place years ago. The line went fast, the owner was handing out delicious samples to us to snack on while we waited. Real deal Italian deli. Can't wait to go back!
