The staff at this restaurant are friendly and they serve great sushi at a reasonable price. I have no complaints. Just because the decor is not fancy doesn't take away from the quality of the food. It's amusing how some people are willing to pay more for smaller portions of sushi just because it's served in a fancier setting. View all feedback.
What Courtney Schmitt doesn't like about Nagoya Sushi:
I live in the neighborhood and the place seemed empty every time I passed by, so out of pity more than anything else, I decided to give it a try with a friend. We get there at 7:40pm on a Thursday and are told that the restaurant is closed. I didn't think that I heard correctly, but it turns out that I did.I was told that the restaurant closed at 8:30 and that they wouldn't have time to serve us. I mentioned that we... This restaurant is a great spot for lunch, offering sushi at a lower price compared to other sushi restaurants located east of Greene Avenue. It is perfect for a quick and delicious sushi lunch if you are in the area for business. While Nagoya does have some seating available, it is more common to take the food to go. Prices in 2018 ranged from $6.00 to $12.00 for pre-made sushi plates containing 6-14 pieces, or you can also place an order for pick-up.

Good sushi at good prices with very friendly staff. Fairly extensive menu for sushi, sashimi and rolls. Eat in or order ahead for takeout.
I live in the neighborhood and the place seemed empty every time I came by, so out of shame more than anything else, I decided to give it an attempt with a friend. We will be there on Thursday at 7:40 am and say that the restaurant is closed. I didn't think I heard right, but it turns out I did. I was told that the restaurant was closed at 8:30 and that they had no time to serve us. I mentioned that we were hungry and didn't have to dwell, but they refused to serve us.
Don't let the restaurant's small appearance fool you. Despite the lack of customers, the sushi here is excellent. While they typically have pre-made sushi in the refrigerator, I recommend ordering fresh sushi from the counter. The plastic sheet and utensils they provide may not be the most appealing, but the quality of the sushi makes up for it. Consider this place more of a cafeteria than a traditional restaurant.
