My absolute favorite local sushi spot. Small, low key, and those sushi chefs know what they are doing. We did an omakase as a special treat one day and it revealed our favorite items on the menu for future visits. Get the baked mussels, sunshine roll, and jalapeño sashimi! View all feedback.
What Jared Ross doesn't like about Sushi North Japanese Restaurants:
I was very disappointed when we went back last night. I come here once or twice a year when I am in the area, it used to be in the top 10 of sushi restaurants I've been to (including NYC LA), but this time it was mediocre at best. The fish was lacking in flavor and did not taste fresh. The presentation is beautiful, but don't let it fool you. Needless to say, I will no longer be coming back. View all feedback.
We've been coming to this sushi restaurant for 11 years. It's always top quality, always great food.
Was not expecting quality of this kind in Colorado if I’m being honest. The prices were a little high for the area but I was not bothered because the quality was good, some of the best tamago(egg omelette) I’ve had, was served warm which I was not used to but enjoyed, the crispy flower dish was amazing, I would not have the seaweed salad again but the nigiri, the maki and the miso I had were all very delicious the jumbo shrimp shumai was good too. Tried to go back before I left but the hours showing on google were inaccurate. Being from the west coast I have had high quality sushi and this was right on par. The restaurant itself was quiet, not very busy, the service was good, I didn’t have to ask for water refills which I very much appreciate. Vegetarian options: Many vegetable rolls
Moved to Colorado within the past year and use to come here pretty often. Each time I come, it's always something... They have fountain drinks priced at the regular price as all nearby restaurants, but they don't allow refills. If you want a refill you get charged for it. All sushi prices recently increased anywhere from $1 to a $5 increase. The sushi rolls are decent at best, but not for the price. The restaurant is also very dark, oldly decorated, there is never anyone inside. Most of the time there isn't anyone eating inside even between the times of 5:30pm and 7:00pm M F. I hardly see coming inside for takeout. I probably won't be coming back as there are better nearby restaurants with the same prices with much more to offer. The one good thing about the restaurant is the server. She is always on top of it and always so sweet.
Great food and staff made it such a fun night with great conversation while we sat at the sushi bar.
Avoid! The fatty tuna was dripping in water and less tuna in the whole roll than should be on one piece nigiri. Hard pass. That is not how much or what the liquid from fatty tuna should look like ?
