The prime rib meal deal offered good value overall. However, I was disappointed that the prime rib was quite fatty. On the brighter side, the service was excellent. I'm also glad I made a reservation, as many people were waiting. View all feedback.
What KevinR doesn't like about Bj's Brewhouse Westminster:
Worst experience I’ve ever had, this was a special occasion and it was completely ruined, we went for the special and were told they were out, this was only 7:30, we ordered steak and they were so tough we couldn’t cut them with a steak knife, we sent them back and ordered something else that came over cooked and dry, we were told we would get our dessert comped but were charged for it, we will never go back. While none of the main courses were vegetarian, the appetizer menu offered a variety of options. There were also a couple of specialty salads, vegetarian baked potatoes, vegetarian spaghetti and angel hair pasta, and two types of vegetarian deep-dish pizza, along with a "make-your-own" pizza option and a calzone. However, none of the sandwiches were vegetarian, and although they had minestrone and two other soups that could be vegetarian, we didn’t ask about their ingredients. We chose to share a "Field of Greens" salad and a large 14” Vegetarian pizza. The Field of Greens salad, priced at $10, included baby lettuce, feta cheese, fire-roasted peppers, mandarin oranges, red onions, and candied pecans, all dressed with a raspberry vinaigrette. It was a generous portion, perfect for a light dinner or to share with a friend. BJ’s also has a smaller dinner salad that is more affordable if you prefer, but the Field of Greens made a lovely starter. Next, we ordered the Vegetarian Deep-Dish Pizza for $21. This and the Spinach Artichoke are the only vegetarian specialty pizzas on the menu, but you can customize your own with a choice of 12 vegetables. The restaurant exclusively serves deep-dish pizza in three sizes, with the large being a hearty 14”, enough for two people, or even three if paired with a salad. I really enjoyed the deep-dish pizza. While it could use a bit more toppings, the sauce was excellent, and the crust was among the best deep-dish I've had. They only offer a white crust, which I found to be significantly better than what’s served at Old Chicago; it tasted freshly made rather than store-bought. It was light, flavorful, and provided a great base for the toppings. Even though we were there for the food, it’s worth noting that this is a brewpub, and they brew their own beer right on the premises. They always have at least five of their own creations on tap. Unfortunately for this beer enthusiast, it’s Lent, so I was abstaining from alcohol. However, I treated myself to a St. Pauli Girl Non-Alcoholic beer, which surprisingly wasn’t bad for a non-alcoholic option. Beer and pizza just seem to go hand in hand. The restaurant itself is clean, comfortable, and casual, with sports playing on a big screen and a range of food options for everyone in the family. The decor is nice, and all the staff members were friendly, helpful, and attentive. I'm really glad I discovered this restaurant and would happily recommend it to friends and readers. With locations in Westminster, Aurora, and Boulder, if they’re all as good as this one, you’re sure to enjoy your visit to the nearest location.
We had our food and drinks at different times, with intervals of over 10 minutes between servings for the four of us. The dishes weren't served in a way that distinguished between main courses and appetizers. The chili was not only served cold but also started to dry out. The waiting staff did not pay much attention to us during the meal. While we enjoy BJ’s in Boulder, the Westminster location needs to focus more on the overall dining experience instead of just placing food and drinks haphazardly on the table.
The service was a bit slower than I anticipated, and the salads and appetizers took less than 5 minutes to arrive.
BJ's is an excellent restaurant. The food is outstanding, and Aaron's service was exemplary. We all had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back!
Great service and eating. best pizza! would they recommend
