Draaihoek Lodge - Western Cape

I don‘t know where to start… From the very warm welcome, throughover the stay till the goodbye, it was just amazing. Unfortunately we couldn‘t stay longer than one night. If we had the time, we would have stayed longer. Much impressive were the detail oriented things in the house. (if you go, you will recognize) It has really eveything you need. We had a perfect stay at this beautiful place. It starts with its perfect location overhead Knysna, overlooking the lagoon and at the same time close to everything. Very nice, spacious and clean room. And then of course there is Matthias our host. He welcomed us personally took his time explaining everything and arranging things to do/eat/go. A true gem. The team are so friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. The hotel is immaculate and so peaceful with a lovely view of Knysna. The breakfast is like nothing we've seen at a hotel before, a veritable tasting menu of treats served in a tranquil courtyard. We will be back next time we visit the area for sure.

We stayed in the breathe cottage and it was one of the most incredible places we have stayed in SA. It felt like we were the only people in this beautiful mountain range and the cottage was perfect for our romantic weekend away. Plus the hosts were also amazing. We can't wait to go back.

A wonderful find. Friendly, helpful hosts who will explain the lay of the land on arrival. The beautiful position in the semi-desert area of the Klein Karoo with sweeping views is just superb. The location is a 10-minute drive from the main road which is easily done and provides the detoxifying effect one hopes for in remote areas. Yet close enough to receive cell phone signal.
