The Galleria is a never failing, always epic experience for old Italian cuisine. There is no lack of delicious menu items and specialties. We go here for most of our special events and we were blown away by the service as well as the various fish dishes we had over the years. The grilled Calamari alone is worth the trip. What User doesn't like about Galleria Dominick:
We were a group of eight with reservations. It took 45 minutes before we were offered menus by the waiter who eventually returned to take our order. We were then served by the busboys. Our appetizer dishes sat until after the main courses arrived . The side dishes were cold. Every main course was over sauced. I?ve eaten here over forty years and have seen a gradual decline but tonight experience was a new low. View all feedback.
The service was excellent and very attentive! We enjoyed the grilled calamari and chopped salad, which were both delicious. My husband ordered the frutti di mare (mixed seafood over pasta), and I had the chicken with mushrooms, served with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was good, though not outstanding. The ambiance was comfortable but felt somewhat outdated.
When the waiter brought our appetizer, he took our dinner orders. It was only later, when I overheard him with other tables, that I realized there was a specials menu. My daughter chose the Rigatoni with Vodka sauce, while I went for the Gnocchi with Veal Ragu. When our meals arrived, I was dismayed to find that my gnocchi was overwhelmed by a gelatinous tomato sauce. The texture resembled that of condensed Campbell’s tomato soup—if you know what I mean. The sauce had no flavor, and the bits of veal were mealy. I was thoroughly disappointed. My daughter said her meal was okay, but it was just rigatoni in vodka sauce—hard to mess that up. About fifteen minutes later, when the waiter returned and noticed my dissatisfaction, he insisted on getting me a replacement meal. He was very adamant that I shouldn’t leave hungry and assured me I wouldn’t be charged for the gnocchi. I eventually agreed to try a basic chicken parmesan. When it arrived, it was fine, but again had a very basic tomato flavor. Overall, the meal was just mediocre. The fried calamari, however, was crispy and flavorful, especially with a squeeze of lemon, though I found the marinara dipping sauce too salty. Unfortunately, the entrées were subpar. Having traveled throughout the Northeast and along the Atlantic coast, as well as extensively in Italy, I was quite disappointed with this restaurant's offerings. I was also surprised that no insalata was served with the meal.
The Galleria consistently provides an exceptional experience for those seeking classic Italian dining. Their menu is filled with a wide variety of delicious options and enticing specials. We often choose this restaurant for our special occasions, and we've always been impressed by both the service and the range of exquisite fish dishes we've enjoyed over the years. The grilled calamari is particularly noteworthy and definitely worth the visit. During my last trip, I had the most incredible swordfish, which I requested in a spicy red sauce, and they certainly delivered! The fish was fresh and tender, and the sauce was perfectly spicy and flavorful. If you're in the mood for upscale Italian, make sure to visit The Galleria—you won't be disappointed!
Amazing food, outstanding service, and a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere.
The food was incredibly delicious, the service was swift, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was calm and ideal for conversations. We will definitely return.
