This tiny restaurant is located in a strip mall off of Elm, across the parking lot from the Best Western Plus Wine Country Hotel and Suites. A small "mom and pop" restaurant offering some of the finest Japanese food anywhere in North America.Fabulous and creative sushi, marvelously executed Don Buri and Yakasobi. Great prices. Take Out Central now delivers from this fine little pizza joint, so we had to try it out.
The pizza at this establishment was delicious and the service from our waitress was welcoming.
I am always for supporting the local small business restaurants so when I my boyfriend and I decided to come eat here I was more than supportive to dine in.
We were staying at the Best Western Hotel across the same "shared" parking lot and this restaurant served us a great meal. It looked closed from the outside but Sushiya was open, with dim lighting, and not busy on a Friday night. So we were apprehensive to eat there but no worries -- the food is fresh, quickly served and reasonably priced (compared to Victoria or Revelstoke). The udon soups were a good size, with tasty broth good portions of meat and plump noodles. The sashimi was sooo good and the salad dressing on the green salad was not the typical mayo-based stuff but a refreshing clear version. Highly recommend.
It was a tad expensive for my Vancouver brain, where we are saturated in sushi restaurants. But this was so delicious that it was worth every penny. They were very kind about my seafood allergy and I didn't have any reaction. I rarely get to go out for sushi because of this allergy so it's amazing when a restaurant really respects that and tries to help.It was delicious, and a good portion. The flavours were great.
