We were taking a 1 day trip up the Sea and Sun Highway and decided to stop at this local restaurant in Horseshoe Bay - I heard it had great fish and chips. It had a very nice menu with plenty of variety, beer available, and a pleasant decor and atmosphere. What Mariane Jones doesn't like about Troll's Restaurants:
50 minute wait for a burger and an order of fish and chips today. Fries were cold, it took another 10 minutes to replace them. And they forgot to even serve the coleslaw that comes with the dish! No explanation, no trying to fix this crappy experience. It looks nice as you walk by but just don't bother. There's much better places nearby. View all feedback.
Amazing view, and lovely atmosphere! hands down one of the best fish and chips restaurant in BC! The service was a bit slow considering the fact that I visited in quiet hours! The waitress forgot about my dessert order and I left my table to pay and leave after waiting long enough!
The service was outstanding and the food was quick and amazing. Perfect place to stay cozy while waiting for the ferry or just hanging around. We got seated quickly and the view was amazing. We really enjoyed our experience we really recommend this family run business.

Nice patio setting over looking Horseshoes Bay pier.Beautiful scenery.Trolls has very tasty crab cakes and bigger than other places. Price is reasonable. Staffs are friendly.
There are a lot of good fish chips places in and around Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo…but Troll’s is definitely worth skipping one ferry sailing to to enjoy one of the best.
