The Boat Shed Ambleside

To my fellow individuals with celiac disease: please avoid eating at this restaurant! The menu lists a few dishes as gluten-free, including the tuna Poke that I ordered. I specifically asked the server to confirm that the soy sauce and tortillas were indeed gluten-free, as I have celiac disease for medical reasons. The kitchen assured me that they were gluten-free, but unfortunately, I later found out that the house-made tortilla chips are fried in the same fryer as other gluten-containing items and the soy sauce on the fish is not gluten-free. Both the manager and staff were unaware of allergens and celiac disease. I informed them of the dangers and suggested they remove all gluten-free labeling until they are better informed. Unfortunately, I doubt they will take this advice.

Nice place. Appreciate they’ve added a vegan option, but more plant based foods would be great!Also, would benefit from adding a baby change table in the washroom!

Yummy crumbles fish! Can't say much of the atmosphere because we went at lunch time for take away but it seems a nice place for a quick meal.

We came here for lunch outside on their patio on a beautiful Fall day. Our rating is: Ambiance: 5/5 a great vibe as you stare across the ocean by the beach. Great place for coffee or a meal with family friends. There's indoor seating inside the tent.Food: 4/5 we had the cod burger wrapped in lettuce with fries fish chips. The setup is that you order pay inside and they'll give you a number with a bucket of utensils. Your food is brought out when it's ready. They offer Brunch daily from 11 am 3pm. Happy hour is from M F from 3 pm 5 pm along with Daily Deals from M F. It's sort of this cute little place, tucked away, but right on Ambleside beach. They used to have full service, but now it operates more like a food truck, you go and order from the takeout window, but you can eat it there.The atmosphere is very cute and cozy, and the food has always been good every time I've gone! They specialize in seafood/fish and chips.
