Subway - West Unity
Subway
Description
In a small‑town setting this sandwich shop delivers affordable, family‑friendly takeout with highlights like cookies, a Chipotle Steak & Cheese wrap and raspberry cheesecake. Many praise value and convenience for hikers and families, but experiences are mixed: order accuracy, produce freshness and hygiene have been inconsistent and service can be inattentive. Expect decent fast‑casual fare at modest prices, but be prepared for variable quality and service.

I arrived a few minutes before closing time and was promptly denied service, even though I was in line before they officially closed and was only looking to order a 6-inch sub. As a regular customer and a pregnant woman, I found this experience quite frustrating. It clearly demonstrates a lack of care for customers when they’re willing to turn people away before 9 PM, regardless of how long they’ve been waiting. Honestly, I wish I could give them a zero-star rating because one star feels too generous for this level of customer service.
I have had good and bad experiences here. Lately, it has been bad. I have been served by a woman, I believe is named Andrea, multiple times. She is very rude. Plus lately the lettuce has been brown. I have to ask for new vegetables after lunch time and get treated differently as soon as I ask. I also watched one of their employees, not working at the time, put on gloves and touch her phone, and then put her hands in the prepared food for customers and make herself a sandwich. I brought this to their attention and they said its lucky they made my food beforehand.
Much improved from the past. I didn't get the attitude from the employee and she seemed genuinely interested in helping. It was great.
It's a subway the kid behind the counter was on it there was no line it was like 2 but it's also West Unity so is the line really ever long? I don't know just asking I guess anyway I don't really like subway but it's what was avaliable and it was good so ehh. Not sure what we will do on our next trip on the Wabash Cannonball trail but this was our last stop walked here from county rd 17 (it's about 3.2 miles the next leg looks like 6.6 might have to find a break pont)
