Tamworth Sushi - WEST TAMWORTH

The sushi at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. I believe it’s the worst I’ve had in Tamworth. I’m not even sure if they used proper sushi rice; it felt more like a poorly cooked short grain that was barely holding together. Regardless of the type of rice, it was very shaky, and I could hardly taste anything. The raw salmon nigiri tasted like it had been prepared very early that morning. When I had the raw salmon sushi box for lunch at 12:30, it was dry on the surface and raised concerns about foodborne illness. The pieces of dry salmon were not generous, paired with badly cooked sushi rice. This is a meal that I simply couldn’t finish due to its overall poor quality. A raw salmon sushi box is not complicated — it should include well-cooked sushi rice and fresh, reasonably generous salmon. They couldn’t even get that right. I’m very disappointed.

The sushi here is excellent—fresh, quick, and served with friendly service! I will definitely be returning.
