While some patrons experienced delays due to understaffing, they ultimately praised the delicious food and warm atmosphere. The attentive staff, including cheerful waiters and dog-friendly policies, consistently received high marks, contributing to a welcoming experience. Diners appreciated the lovely decor, especially in the inviting beer garden, and many recommended their exceptional burgers and fish and chips. Despite some hiccups, the overall sentiment points towards a delightful dining experience worth exploring for both locals and travelers alike.
It’s funny isn’t it, people only tend to write reviews on here if they have had a bad time. Perhaps with more people writing reviews when They have had a lovely meal the overall star rating would be higher. We parked our motorhome in the car park, booked a table for and both had the burger. The service was attentive, the food is delicious and the atmosphere lovely. Gabbs Our waitress was delightful, attentive polite and funny. I can only assume that those who left bad reviews were either very hard to please or had arrived in the middle of the summer when I can only imagine that service was somewhat more hectic.Thank you so muchDon’t avoid this pub due to sketchy reviews, we left very happy and very stuffed. Thank you
We came here quite a few times during our stay at the Hoburne Blue Anchor next door. It is a very nice place that does local ales ciders and very good food. We ate here times the first time we hadn’t booked a table and we had our Labradors with us but it wasn’t a problem and they found us a table straight away, even providing treats for our dogs. Food was very good the chips are huge and very filling. Service was always good and prompt. There is a very big beer garden too which the weather was kind enough to us so that we used it a couple of times and I can imagine it being popular in the summer. It was a nice addition to our weeks stay and worth a visit if you are staying in the area.
We had a lovely welcome by the staff and it’s a very cool place with lovely decor on the walls and great location near the ocean. Lovely staff and the most amazing roast lunch. Staff couldn’t do enough for you and would highly recommend thank you
