What Gryke doesn't like about Mason's Arms:
I hope my visit was not typical! After waiting at the bar for 10 minutes, I was eventually noticed by the owner or manager. I wanted to eat outside (brilliant sunshine), but he didn't want that. Told me that if I waited for an hour or so, they MIGHT be able to get me some food! This pub will wait a long, long time before they get my patronage! View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant twice over the weekend and the food was amazing. The pub itself is lovely and the staff were very friendly. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Highlights include the peaceful atmosphere.
Good food and pleasant people Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Great value
Food drinks: Good pub food friendly service and well kept ales
Beautiful and cozy rooms connected to a historic thatched pub. The food is excellent and the staff is friendly. The rooms, service, and location all receive a perfect score of 5. The hotel is praised for its peaceful atmosphere and excellent value for money.
Nipped in for a meal. Both chose Honey Glazed Belly Pork. Mash and French beans had a great gravy with an additional sauce. When asked we automatically respond with, Yes, fine , but should have asked where the meat was. The pork rind was full of flavour but certainly not full of meat. Suspect the rind had been shaved off the meat before it became pulled pork. Another little niggling point was the condiments- can you seriously be a restaurant after replacing cruets with paper packets of salt and pepper?
